Former Brazilian Environment Minister Izabella Teixeira has been elected a co-chair of the International Resource Panel. Mrs Teixeira led Brazil’s delegation at the negotiations of the Paris Agreement on climate change in 2015, and she was a leader of the 2012 Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development.  Mrs Texeira, an expert in environmental management, impact assessment and licensing, will serve as co-chair alongside former European Union Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik, who has been a co-chair since 2014. Mrs Teixeira was named a United Nations Champion of the Earth in 2013.
