On Monday 20th of November, the delegation met with TUSIAD Counterpart and BusinessEurope member CBI’s President Paul Dreschsler. During the meeting, challenges and opportunities on bilateral relations were discussed. Moreover, Turkey – UK relations, possible institutional and economic structure in the case of UK’s new model of partnership with the EU excluding full membership were evaluated.
TUSIAD delegation continued its meetings with the UK Parliament Committee for Exiting the EU Chair, newly elected Lord Mayor Charles Bowman, prominent think tank Chatham House expert and representative of weekly Economist.
On 21st of November, TUSIAD delegation paid a visit to Turkey’s Ambassador to UK Abdurrahman Bilgiç and UK Department of International Trade Central Asia and Eastern Europe Director Dr. John Kennedy. Under the auspices of Institute of Directors, a roundtable was organized with the participation of UK Department of International Trade representatives and Institute of Directors members to assess the Brexit process and post – Brexit Turkey – UK relations.
During the two-days visit, the Brexit process, post Brexit Turkey – UK economic and trade relations, Turkey – EU relations and the modernization of Turkey’s EU Customs Union agreement were thoroughly discussed.
